BOONE, Iowa—The Boone County 4-H Horse Safety Stall Initiative Fund Raising efforts receive a big boost for the Union Pacific Foundation Grant Program recently.  The Boone County 4-H program received a $10,000 grant to be used toward the purchase of 80 collapsible box stalls.  Each stall costs about $1,000.  The Union Pacific Foundation is granting about $250,000 this calendar year to 34 Iowa nonprofit organizations.  Robert W. Turner, Union Pacific senior vice president-Corporate Relations and Union Pacific Foundation President, said “It is important that we help these groups continue to make positive impacts in the towns and cities where many of our employees live and work across our 23-state network.”  The $10,000 check was recently presented to Boone County 4-H by Kelli O’Brien, Director of Public Affairs for Iowa and Nebraska.
