Woman Killed At Train Crossing

BOONE, Iowa—Boone Police were sent to a reported train-pedestrian accident on the west side of Boone shortly before 11:00 PM Friday night.  Commander John Sloter reported that a caller reported that a person had been struck by an east bound Union Pacific Railroad train.  Sloter did confirm that officers located a woman at the scene, a short distance from the railroad crossing at Marion Street.  The woman died as a result of her injuries.  Her name has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.  The incident remains under investigation.
