Safety and Self Awareness Class Thursday

Posted on 12 June 2013 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—It’s been a couple of years since ACCESS and the Boone Police Department held a free Awareness Class.  There will be one Thursday, and there is still time for women, 18 and over to get signed up.  The class is planned for the Boone Police Department, so there is space consideration.  Captain Lonnie Hikiji says participants will receive safety information and instruction from department personnel.  Topics will include awareness at home and in public places, basic home security and how to react if attacked.  Hikiji says there will also be information for women who have children about child safety.  Those that may wish additional information are encouraged to call the Boone County Community Outreach Coordinator for ACCESS at 515-432-3606.  The class will be held Thursday at 7:00 PM.
