MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) – The San Antonio Spurs are in the NBA Finals for the first time since 1999 after completing a four-game sweep of the Western Conference finals, beating the Grizzlies 93-86 in Memphis. Tony Parker led the way with a game-high 37 points on 15-of-21 shooting. The Grizzlies never recovered after falling behind 24-12 in the first quarter, although they got within 89-86 with 49 seconds left.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) – The Charlotte Bobcats have hired Los Angeles Lakers assistant Steve Clifford to replace head coach Mike Dunlap, who was fired after going 21-61 in his only season at the helm. Two people familiar with the situation tell The Associated Press that Clifford had agreed to a three-year contract. He becomes the sixth coach of the Bobcats since 2007.

DETROIT (AP) – The Chicago Blackhawks will host the Detroit Red Wings in Game 7 of the NHL’s Western Conference semifinals tomorrow night. Michal Handzus (HAND’-zoos) , Brian Bickell and Michael Frolik scored in the first 10 minutes of the third period as the Hawks turned a 2-1 deficit into a 4-3 win over the Wings. Frolik scored the eventual game-winner on a penalty shot after being hauled down on a breakaway.

PARIS (AP) – Men’s top seed Novak Djokovic (JOH’-koh-vihch) and women’s No. 3 Victoria Azarenka highlight the schedule during Day 3 of the French Open. Yesterday’s winners include Rafael Nadal (nah-DAHL’) and Maria Sharapova and Agnieszka Radwanska (ahg-nee-ESH’-kuh rahd-VAHN’-skuh), but fifth seed Tomas Berdych (TOH’-mahs bur-DEEK’) fell to Gael Monfils (GAH’-ehl mohn-FEES’) 7-6, 6-4, 6-7, 6-7, 7-5.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) – Jordan Wolf scored four goals and Duke earned its second NCAA men’s lacrosse title by turning a 5-0 deficit into a 16-10 triumph over Syracuse. Brendan Fowler was named the game’s most outstanding player after winning 20 of 28 faceoffs, including 13 straight to help the Blue Devils score 10 of the game’s final 13 goals. Josh Offit and Josh Dionne each scored three times.
