OGDEN, Iowa—The Ogden City Council has set two public hearings for their regular meeting on May 7th. One public hearing will be for amendments to the current fiscal year budget and the second will be to transfer ownership of some of the property the city owns following building demolition in downtown Ogden. City Administrator Donovan Olson says the budget amendment will include a variety of additional expenditures like the additional funds spent for computer training. The amendment will also include the money being transferred in and being spent on the Wellness Center construction which is expected to begin before the end of this fiscal year.
The public hearing for the transfer of property is also tied to the Wellness Center project. The Council will need to approve a transfer of ownership for a portion of the property for the construction of the facility. The move is not unexpected and is just the next step in the community’s revitalization efforts.
