Boone County Children to Receive I-Smile Program Donation Through MICA

JOHNSTON, Iowa—The Delta Dental of Iowa Foundation has donated 106,000 toothbrushes, toothpaste and floss to the I-Smile program which connects Iowa children in need with dental care and services.  Mid-Iowa Community Action, Inc will receive a portion of the donation for children in Boone County.  Dr. Bob Russell, state dental director for the Iowa Department of Public Health says the strives to connect Iowa children to the dental services they need to grow up happy and healthy.  Many may not be aware, but Mid Iowa Community Action, Inc has a Dental Clinic in Ames to service the dental needs of low income families either on Medicaid or with no dental insurance.  The clinic is located at 226 SE 16th Street in Ames and is open Monday through Thursday.  Appointments may be made at 515-598-5298.
