SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) – Gonzaga, the top-ranked team in the AP rankings, has earned a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament for the first time in school history. The 31-2 Bulldogs (31-2) are the top seed in the West Region and will open the tournament on Thursday in Salt Lake City against No. 16 seed Southern in the second round.
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) – Indiana will open the NCAA tournament in Dayton, Ohio, as the No. 1 seed in the East Region of the NCAA tournament. Indiana will face either Long Island-Brooklyn or James Madison on Thursday and a victory there would send the Hoosiers into a third-round contest against either North Carolina State or Temple.

(AP) – Big 12 champion Kansas earned a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament for the fifth time in seven years, and will open play in the South Region against Sun Belt champ Western Kentucky. If the Wildcats make it into the round of 32, they could meet former coach Roy Williams and eighth-seeded North Carolina, whom they beat in a regional final last year on their way to the national championship game.
