CLEVELAND (AP) – New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony sat out the second half of last night’s 102-97 win at Cleveland after injuring his right knee. Anthony entered the game tied with Oklahoma City’s Kevin Durant for the NBA scoring lead at 28.6 points a game before scoring six points on 1-of-5 shooting. Anthony said he underwent an MRI a couple of days ago and wasn’t sure if he’ll play in tomorrow’s road game against the Pistons.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) – Dwyane Wade had 32 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists as the Miami Heat beat Minnesota 97-81 for their team-record 15th consecutive win. LeBron James chipped in 20 points and 10 boards in 35 minutes despite being listed as a game-time decision with a twisted left knee. The winning streak has allowed the Heat to open a seven-game lead over Indiana in the Eastern Conference.

OWINGS MILLS, Md. (AP) – Quarterback Joe Flacco (FLAK’-oh) has signed a six-year, $120.6 million contract with the Baltimore Ravens that makes him the highest paid player in NFL history. The deal for the Super Bowl winning quarterback guarantees him $52 million.

UNDATED (AP) – Gonzaga (gahn-ZAG’-uh) has made an historic climb to the top of the Associated Press college basketball poll. It’s the first time the Bulldogs have been ranked No.1. Gonzaga, which is 29-2, picked up 51 first-place votes to vault over Indiana, which dropped to No. 2. Duke, Kansas and Georgetown round out the top five.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) – The NHL has suspended Buffalo forward Patrick Kaleta (kah-LET’-uh) for five games without pay for shoving Rangers forward Brad Richards into the board from behind in New York’s win last night. The league also noted Kaleta had been suspended twice before in his career.
