BOONE, Iowa—The National Weather Service has been revising the Winter Weather Advisories for Iowa with the current winter storm. The most recent change has been a Winter Weather Advisory for Boone County and have upgraded Polk, Dallas and Story Counties to a Winter Storm Warning. Anticipated snowfall in Boone County is projected at 2-to-5 inches with 5-to-9 inches for Polk, Dallas and Story. Besides the snow, Boone County Emergency Management Coordinator Dave Morlan has cautioned the public about the forecast strong, gusty winds which will cause substantial drifting and will also reduce visibility. Morlan also cautioned people to be aware of deteriorating road conditions. Snow, slush and ice are already beginning to accumulate.
