Posted on 13 February 2013 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—The Boone County Board of Supervisors will be collecting the final budget numbers needed to prepare the overall Boone County budget for the next fiscal year.  One of the faster growing portions of the budget has been Public Safety and Sheriff Gregg Elsberry will submit the budget for the Sheriff’s Department, the Boone County Jail and the Communications Center.  John Grush, the County Point of Contact for Mental Health will submit that budget information for Social Services, Case Management and Mental Health.  Secondary roads is always a big part of the budget and Engineer Bob Kieffer and Assistant Engineer Scott Kruse will provide that information.  Interim County Attorney Jim Robbins has been overseeing the County Attorney’s office for a week and is also expected to present that budget.  The Supervisors have traditionally met with representatives from the Boone County Farm Bureau to review the proposed budget prior to holding their public hearing, expected in March.
