BOONE, Iowa—The Boone High School speech team performed well during the State Large Group Speech Contest last Saturday in Waukee. Six of the ten teams earned the highest ratings of l. Judges rate from 1-to-4. The remaining four teams all earned ll. Teams for Improv, Ensemble Acting, Mime and Short Film received the l’s. There were 3 improve teams. Musical Theater, Radio Broadcasting, Choral Reading and One Act Play received ll’s.
Students participating included Christian Cook, Evan Isabell, Christian Fosselman, Robert Clemons, Kathleen Embrey, Holly Barton, Jaelynn Burkamper, Kate Paul, Trevor Erb, Bill Carey, Jordan Gustofson, Sean Thompson, Anna Runnestad, Payten Bailey, Matt Harris, Logan Elsberry, Andrey Danilson, Alia Mortenson, Jonathan Clark, Laura Martin, Joe Anderson, Spencer Gutknecht, Haley Masker, Camille Delanoe, Emily Unger, Hannah Anderson, Katie Feagins, Noemi Paulin, Rebecca Robertson, Savannah Kirby, Silvia Goizueta, Sarah Gustafson, Aelita Danilson, Chase Harper, Dani Meadows, Laura Welsher, Emily Carey, Kalista Howard, Keith Schreiber, Nick Hicks, Noah MacRunnel, Taya Blunk and Thomas Alexander.
The next event for the Boone High Speech Team is individual season events. The Raccoon River Conference Speech Festival will be Thursday, February 14th in Adel. District Competition follows on Saturday, February 23rd again in Adel.
