SAN DIEGO (AP) – Tiger Woods has a six shot lead entering the final holes of the PGA’s Farmers Insurance Open in San Diego. Play was stopped yesterday with Woods having completed seven holes, standing 17 shots under par. Brandy Snedeker, the defending champion, is 11 under after 13 and Nick Watney is 11-under after eight.

UNDATED (AP) – A new Associated Press poll is due today and the odds favor Michigan taking over the top spot. The Wolverines, who were ranked second last week, upped their record 19-1 after a 74-60 win yesterday over Illinois. Last week’s top-team, Duke, was upset last week by Miami of Florida.

HONOLULU (AP) – It may not mean much but the annual Pro Bowl game was played yesterday in Honolulu. The stars from the NFC came out on top 62-35 as Minnesota tight end Kyle Rudolph was voted the game’s MVP

MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) – Novak Djokovic (NOH’-vak JOH’-kuh-vich) is celebrating another win in the Australian Open. He won his third straight title in Melbourne with a 6-7, 7-6, 6-3, 6-2 win over third-seed Andy Murray 6-7, 7-6, 6-3, 6-2. The win is his sixth in a Grand Slam tournament.

NEW YORK (AP) – Carmelo Anthony had a huge game for the Knicks in a 106-104 win over visiting Atlanta. Anthony tied a franchise record with nine 3-pointers and had the go-ahead, three-point play with 12.5 seconds left to cap a 42-point night. The Hawks couldn’t overcome Anthony’s big night despite shooting a season-high 60 percent from the field.
