Brad Manard, Boone Schools Superintendent, announced that there was an incident at the high school and they evacuated the building as a precaution. Buildings throughout the district were locked down. All students and faculty are fine. At this time, there is no comment on the incident because it is under investigation. Emergency officials responded to a fire alarm which went off about 1:20, and that initiated the evacuation of the high school and lock down of the other buildings. Police continue to search the school at this time as a precautionary measure. According to Manard, there was never a direct threat. As recently as last week, the Boone Schools staff updated and reviewed their emergency plan.
