BOONE, Iowa—The Boone High Speech team had an exceptional performance at the District Large Group Contest recently in Perry.  52 students qualified in ten competitive categories advancing to state competition.  Boone High School had 84 students entered in 16-categories.  Seniors Christian Cook, Holly Barton, Kathleen Embrey and Jaelynn Burkamper have qualified for state all four years that they’ve been eligible to compete.  Seniors Keith Schreiber, Spencer Gutknecht, Laura Martin, Joe Anderson and Matt Harris and Junior Logan Elsberry have qualified for state for a third consecutive time.  The state contest will be held at Waukee High School on February 2nd.
