Mother Nature Reminds Us, Winter’s Only a Month Old

Posted on 21 January 2013 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—A Wind Chill Advisory has been issued for the KWBG listening area until noon Monday.  An Advisory by the Weather Service means that temperatures and winds will combine to provide dangerously low wind chills.  Temperatures and winds will push the wind chill to a minus 20 or 25 degrees.  That means frostbite could occur quickly, in less than 30 minutes.  Even though Boone County is in an Advisory area, Webster and Hamilton Counties are in a Wind Chill Warning area, which means frostbite could occur within 15 minutes.  KWBG reminds you that if you are working or going to be outdoors, do dress accordingly and be safe.
