While there is still time to get the flu shot before the heart of flu season, there is a question of availability in Boone. On Friday morning, KWBG staff called area flu shot providers. For the most part, the traditional injection supplies are depleted. Medical Associates Pharmacy was the only provider with a small supply of 70 doses of the traditional vaccine. However, Hy-Vee and Walgreens did report a small supply of the higher dose flu shot approved for those 65 and older. The best recommendation is to call ahead about availability as several of the local flu shot providers are considering re-ordering vaccine.
