BOONE, Iowa—For those that took in last Saturday’s Snowshoe Hike with Boone County Naturalist Emily Klein, this was part of the scenery at the Don Williams Recreational Area. For the first time in more than a year, there was actually snow for the outdoor activity. Klein began the snow shoe hikes two years ago using snow
shoes borrowed from Hamilton County Conservation. Since then, a grant from the Leonard Good Trust has allowed Boone County Conservation has been used to acquire 30 sets of snow shoe equipment. Additional information about the 2013 Snowshoe Hikes is available here.
