BOONE, Iowa—The Boone City Council is expected to set two-public hearings for their next meeting, when they meet Monday evening. The two hearings are for two road construction projects, one the South Marshall Street reconstruction which has been in the works for a couple of years. The second will be the Industrial Park Road and Quartz Avenue reconstruction, which will be done in conjunction with Boone County. Bids for the Industrial Park Road and Quartz Avenue reconstruction are already being sought by Boone County, with bids expected to be considered by the end of the month. The proposed joint project has been moving quickly since November when the City Council found out they would be unable to use appropriated dollars for the Corporal Snedden Overpass Project for the Industrial Park Road. Earlier the Council had indicated their only involvement would be with the federally appropriated dollars. Since then, the Council has indicated they would use Tax Increment Finance dollars from an old Urban Renewal District over the industrial park.
