OWINGS MILLS, Md. (AP) – Baltimore linebacker Ray Lewis will retire after the playoffs, telling the team the postseason will be his “last ride.” The 13-time Pro Bowl selectee is expecting to return to the Ravens lineup for Sunday’s playoff game against the Indianapolis Colts. The 37-year-old Lewis has been out since mid-October with a triceps injury.

NEW ORLEANS (AP) – No. 22 Louisville used a dominant performance to roll past fourth-ranked Florida 33-23 in the Sugar Bowl at New Orleans last night. The Cardinals took the lead for good when Terell Floyd returned an interception 38 yards for a touchdown on the first play from scrimmage. Teddy Bridgewater threw for two touchdowns and was 20-of-32 for 266 yards against a team that ranked among the nation’s top three in most passing stats.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) – Jim Boeheim (BAY’-hym) has moved ahead of Bob Knight for second all-time among Division I men’s basketball coaches. Boeheim claimed his 903rd victory last night as Brandon Triche hit five three-pointers and scored a season-high 25 points to lead the Orange to a 78-53 win over Rutgers. Boeheim, trails only Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski, who has 940 victories after the Blue Devils beat Davidson 67-50.

NEW YORK (AP) – NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman says labor talks with the players’ association will continue this morning. The NHL and the players’ association met deep into the early morning after the union made its second counteroffer of the week in an effort to end the season-long lockout. Neither side said much regarding yesterday’s discussions, but it is believed that the pension issue has become a major stumbling block in the negotiations.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) – Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett has filed an antitrust lawsuit against the NCAA accusing the organization of overstepping its authority and piling on when it slapped Penn State with heavy penalties over the Jerry Sandusky child molestation scandal. The complaint seeks to vacate all of the punishment related to the Sandusky case, including a $60 million fine and four-year bowl ban.
