MINNEAPOLIS (AP) – Kevin Love’s 33 points and 11 rebounds powered Minnesota to a 99-93 upset of the Oklahoma City Thunder, who had their 12-game winning streak end. Kevin Durant poured in a game-high 33 points and Russell Westbrook added 30 points and 11 rebounds for the Thunder, who had not lost since Nov. 23 at Boston.
DURHAM, N.C. (AP) – Top-ranked Duke was a winner on and off the court last night. On the court, the top-ranked Blue Devils ran their early season mark to 11-0 by beating Elon (EE’-lahn) 76-54 for their 100th straight nonconference victory at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
CHICAGO (AP)- Off the court, the Blue Devils were a big winner as well. Duke received a verbal commitment from Jabari (jah-BAHR’-ee) Parker, one of the most highly recruited high school players in recent years out of Chicago’s Simeon (SIH’-mee-uhn) Career Academy.
SAN DIEGO (AP)- The BYU Cougars won the Poinsettia Bowl with defense last night. Linebacker Kyle Van Noy forced a fumble in the end zone and recovered it for a touchdown, and scored on a 17-yard interception return, both in the fourth quarter, to lead BYU to a 23-6 victory over San Diego State.
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) – Tonight it’s the Beef O’Brady’s Bowl, which pits 9-3 Ball State against 9-4 Central Florida. Ball State of the Mid-American Conference is seeking its first bowl victory while the Knights of Central Florida are seeking their third 10-win season since stepping up to the Football Bowl Subdivision.
