BOONE, Iowa—Boone Parks and Public Works Director John Rouse says the Parks Department has taken possession of the Blair Memorial Park Monument and a related time capsule, removed from the park east of the Boone High School. Rouse told the Boone Parks Commission this week that construction of the new high school addition meant the monument and time capsule had to be moved. Rouse says the plans are to reset the monument once the Boone High School project is completed. He says the time capsule was supposed to be opened after 50-years so that will not be replaced, but will be kept by the Parks Department until and opening is planned in 2015.
