BOONE, Iowa—The Boone Hope Foundation announced that the 2012 Festival of Hope, “Messages of Hope” raised $21,551 for the Hope Foundation.  The Foundation, made up of Boone School District employees, held their Festival of Hope in the Boone County Hospital Atrium last Saturday.  Visitors bid on silent auction items, had a chance to participate in a live auction for special items and enjoyed the “Hope” Cafe.  Student groups participated by overseeing the “Stuff the Bus” effort, taking non-perishable food items and trying to fill a school bus.  All the food items went to local food pantries.  The Hope Foundation has already given out more than $21,000 this calendar year to assist students and families of students enrolled in Boone Schools.  The Foundation maintains both a website and facebook page.
