Mild Weather Helps With Police Department Project

Posted on 20 November 2012 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—The unseasonably mild weather has helped with work on the Boone Police Department.  The project was initially delayed when efforts to seek bids for facade work did not draw the kind of results the City Council had hoped it would.  Few contractors actually bid the work and those that did were well over the Council’s estimates.  Discussions with the apparent low bidder, Grabau Construction has resulted in the work that’s underway.  When it became apparent a couple of years ago that the old gray facade was deteriorating and would need to be removed, Mayor John Slight said attention was given to a project that would serve as a appropriate entrance to the downtown area.

Workers continue to take advantage of mild weather while working on the facade of the Boone Police Department.
