LOS ANGELES (AP) – Mike D’Antoni (dan-TOH’-nee) gets a three-year, $12 million deal to coach the L.A. Lakers following the firing of Mike Brown after a 1-4 start. D’Antoni was the surprise pick yesterday after talks with former Lakers coach Phil Jackson broke down. The 61-year-old D’Antoni, who’s recovering from knee surgery, probably won’t arrive in L.A. until Wednesday.
