BOONE, Iowa—Boone County became of the counties in Iowa affected by some technical issues Tuesday evening. Auditor Phil Meier said there was a discrepancy in the computer programs used to read and tabulate the information reported from the voting precincts. Absentee ballots and votes from seven of the 15-precincts in Boone County were quickly tabulated, but the remaining eight precincts could not be tabulated. Meier said an older program was reinstalled on the tabulating computer and the remaining votes were counted and then manually added together. Returns so far are unofficial and will be canvased by the Boone County Board of Supervisors next week.
