OGDEN, Iowa—Habitat for Humanity of Boone and Greene Counties dedicated their 20th home Sunday, and the fifth one located in Ogden. Erich Kretzinger says Habitat was excited about completing this home, because it was a real departure from what had been built in the past. The home used structurally insulated panels manufactured by Energy Panel Structures from Graettinger, Iowa. Because the home has the most stringent Energy Star efficiency rating, Habitat receives a $35,000 grant to help cover the additional cost. The home was dedicated Sunday and keys were turned over to Brittany Hendrickson of Ogden and her two daughters, 4-year old Madison and 3-year old Meredith. More work will be done to complete the project, but Hendrickson, who works part-time with Genesis Development in Boone and is current enrolled in the Nursing Program at DMACC Boone Campus, should be able to move in before the holidays.
