BOONE, Iowa—Once again, this Saturday, Auditor’s offices across the state will be open for early, absentee voting. Boone County Auditor Phil Meier says his office will be staffed from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM. Meier said last week, more than 100 people took advantage of the opportunity to vote early. Meier said that Friday was the last day his office could mail out absentee ballots, and those that intend to mail them in have until Monday to get the November 5th postmark. Those with absentee ballots may also bring those to the Courthouse Saturday, Monday or Tuesday. Headed into the weekend, Meier says his office was near 7,000 ballot requests. Well over one-third of the eligible voters in Boone County had opted to vote early through the absentee process. Polls for Tuesday’s election will be open from 7:00 AM until 9:00 PM.
