Madrid was just seven miles from the Missouri border Friday night
taking on Bedford, and after going scoreless in the first quarter, the Tigers’
Nick Novotny returned a punt 42 yards for six and Owen Gibbons
ran it in from the 42 to put Madrid up by three at the half.
Colton Braunschweig had a 1-yard touchdown dive in the third period
and in the fourth, Gibbons ran it 99 yards for a t-d,
Novotny had a 1-yard plunge as well, giving the Tigers a 38 – 19 win at Bedford.
5 – 3 Madrid raps up its regular season next week on the road at Guthrie Center,
who bombed Earlham, 49 – 6.
