Donor Agrees to Match Meals From the Heartland Contributions

Posted on 11 October 2012 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—Good new this week for the North Central Iowa effort for Meals From the Heartland.  Ed Hall says an anonymous donor has agreed to match all of the contributions, but has requested that the matching funds be directed to sponsor youth, up through college age students for the packaging event November 9th and 10th at the United Community School.  Hall says the sponsorship will help more youth participate which will help as well.  But, that doesn’t mean fund raising events should be ignored.  Hall says the more funds that are raised, the more students gain sponsorship and more meals will be packaged and sent around the world.  One of those fund raisers this weekend is Sunday at the Marion Street United Methodist Church.  There will be a “Soup Supper” served from 4:30 PM until 6:30 PM.  The cost will be $6.00 per person.  Hall also says people and groups are welcome to sign up for the packaging event any time, on line here.
