Madrid hosted #1 Woodward Granger and things did not go well from the start.
The Tigers fumbled the ball on their very first play from scrimmage
and the Hawks quickly turned that turnover into a touchdown.
Mason Gibson tied it up with a 5-yard t-d run
and a quarterback keeper by Nick Novotny on the p-a-t put Madrid up 8 – 7.
However, Woodward Granger then scored 45 unanswered points
before Owen Gibbons had a 9-yard touchdown scamper in the fourth quarter.
For the first time since 1988, undefeated Woodward Granger whipped the Tigers
by a score of 52 – 14. Madrid, now with a record of 4 – 3, is next at Bedford,
who outlasted Earlham, 54 – 42.
