BOONE, Iowa—Boone authorities are continuing to investigate leads into last weeks vandalism at the Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone. Dozens of monuments were tipped over, some damaged, flower urn were broken and Boone Mayor John Slight says Boone residents are very upset. Slight says the reward, which by Tuesday afternoon at reached $2,000, may help investigators. He says the city has set up an account specifically for the reward and those that wish may donate to City of Boone, Attention: Cemetery Reward Fund, P.O. Box 550, Boone, Iowa 50036. Slight says the reward is for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those involved with the vandalism. In the meantime, Slight commended the Parks personnel that have been dealing with families, while help three monument companies that have voluntarily reset many of the monuments. Those companies are Heartland Monument of Ogden, Nevada Monument of Nevada and Killin Johnson Monument Company of Fort Dodge.
