Unbeaten Boone traveled to Des Moines to play the winless Eagles of Saydel
last night and Jonny Mack started the party with three first-quarter touchdown
runs of 12, 7, and 82 yards. The Toreadors’ Alex Davis got into the act with a
1-yard t-d plunge before Mack got his fourth touchdown, an 88-yard sprint.
In just seven first-half carries, Mack racked up 227 yards and Boone led 35-0.
The Toreador defense, besides pitching a shutout, scored on an 18-yard pick-six
by Kane Springis in the third quarter, then Ashton Clemons had two t-d dives,
from the two and the one. Boone beat up on Saydel, 56-0. Next up for the 4-0
Toreadors, a big test at Goeppinger Field, Ballard comes to town. The Bombers
lost to Norwalk by a score of 42-31.
