Spicy Italian Rump Roast & Apple Nut Bread Recipes from 9.14.2012

3-4 lb. rump roast
1 pkg. Italian spaghetti seasoning mix (dry)
1 can Hunts tomato paste, 8 oz.
1 can Hunts tomato sauce, 8 oz.
1 lg. (16 oz.) Ragu Sauce
Your favorite spices
1 or 2 lg. diced up onions
Garlic salt
(Crock pot) Season roast with garlic salt. Place in crock pot. Mix all the sauces in a bowl together. Put onions on top and around rump roast. Pour sauce over all. Season with pepper. Cook on low 10-12 hours; high 4-6 hours. Serve over your favorite pasta.
Apple Nut Bread by BDM

½ c shredded carrots
1 c applesauce
½ c oil
1 t vanilla
Add: 2 eggs
¾ c sugar
In another bowl combine:
2 c flour
1 t baking powder
½ t baking soda
½ t salt
1 t cinnamon
½ t nutmeg
½ c chopped walnuts
Stir flour mixture into applesauce mixture, mixing only until all ingredients are blended. Do not overmix. Pour into greased and floured loaf pan. Spread evenly. Sprinkle with 3 T sugar mixed with ½ tsp cinnamon.  Bake at 325˚ for one hour or until a toothpick comes out clean. Remove from pan and let cool.
