BOONE, Iowa—The Iowa Department of Transportation Commissioners voted Tuesday to approve an application from Boone County, seeking a RISE Grant to help fund a paving project on “E” Avenue. RISE stands for Revitalize Iowa’s Sound Economy. The grant, $250,000, will be applied to the paving of “E” Avenue west of Ogden where AgReliant is constructing a new multi-million dollar seed corn processing facility. The application calls for paving 1500 feet of “E” Avenue from US Highway 30 to the south. The costs are expected to be less than $500,000. Works is expected to be completed by August 2013 when the first phase of AgReliant’s plant becomes operational.
