Madrid 24, Van Meter 19

Winless Madrid hosted Van Meter and neither team scored in the first quarter

before the Tigers broke through with a 4-yard touchdown run from Colton

Braunschweig for an 8 – 6 lead at the half.  In the third quarter, Braunschweig

had another rushing t-d, this one from the 3 and Madrid’s Owen Gibbons ran a

kickoff back 84 yards for 6.  The Tigers did not find the end zone again, but held

on for a 24-19 victory over the Bulldogs.  Next up for Madrid, a road game at

Audubon, who was beaten by A-H-S-T, Avoca, 36-20.
