BOONE, Iowa—For the first time since agreeing to appear at the Central Iowa Expo Site east of Boone, the Farm Progress Show had a dry event. Many attendees this year dealt with heat and windy conditions, but still seemed to prefer the heat and dust to the mud from two years ago. Farm Progress officials do not release numbers on attendence, but vendors were very positive about the turn out Tuesday and Wednesday. Even though the temperatures were higher on Wednesday and Thursday, more attendees suffered heat related issues on Tuesday. Thursday was the day the US Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack choose to make an appearance at the show. Vilsack spoke to reporters and answered questions before strolling the grounds.
