Unbeaten Boone traveled to Dewey Field, where Perry scored the first seven points
before the Toreadors’ Jonny Mack punched it into the end zone from 1 yard out.
The Bluejays ran back the ensuing kickoff 85 yards to regain the lead, but Boone
tied it up with a 17-yard touchdown pass from Dusty Moran to Nate Kriegel, then
Moran and Kriegel started the second quarter with a 66-yard bomb. That gave
the Toreadors a 21-14 halftime lead. Boone took the opening kickoff of the third
period down the field with 9 rushes, the last by Mack from the 9 yard line for
another t-d. Mack had a 21-yard touchdown rumble as well. With Levi Morain’s
1-yard dive for 6 in the fourth quarter, the Toreadors remained undefeated with a
40-14 win at Perry. Next week, Newton, who lost to Knoxville, 12-6, comes to
Goeppinger Field. Sports Director Ryan Wendt with color man Mark Turner
will have Toreador football right after the Moffitt’s Ford Lincoln pregame show
at 6:30 Pufferbilly Friday night on AM 1590 and kwbg.com.
