Posted on 24 August 2012 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—The 59th Annual Farm Progress Show will begin Tuesday, August 28th at the Central Iowa Expo site east of Boone.  Preparations have been underway since the end of the June World Hay Expo, held by Farm Progress Shows at the same site.  Road beds have been reconstructed, part of the effort by Boone County, the Iowa Department of Transportation and Iowa State University to make the site weather proof.  The paving will be completed next summer.  Additional permanent structures have been added and more are expected, but headed into the final weekend, a lot of equipment and product for vendors will be moved in and temporary homes will be established.    Actual attendance is not counted, but visitors from virtually every state and numerous countries is expected.
