BOONE, Iowa—Boone Police have reported that a 60-year old moped operator was taken to the Boone County Hospital after he was struck by a car over the noon hour on Wednesday. Doyle Gene Swan was traveling south on Story Street, when a vehicle, operated by 52-year old Kathryn Qynn Fillmore of Ames pulled across Story Street at 15th Street and struck Swan. Fillmore was cited for failing to yield the right of way from a stop sign. Swan was cited for failing to properly display an appropriate safety flag. Officers estimated damages at $2,000. Swan was taken to the Boone County Hospital by the Boone County Ambulance. Boone Fire and Rescue assisted officers at the scene.
