Transportation Available for Summer Lunch Program

BOONE, Iowa—Organizers of the Boone Summer Lunch Ministry have announced that Boone County Transportation will be available to bring children to the lunch sites available in Boone.  Those sites include the Open Bible Church, the Salvation Army Church, Marion Street United Methodist Church and the American Legion Cabin.  Children are encouraged to walk to the nearest site, but if the walk is to far, parents or guardians should call Boone County Transportation to pickup and return children.  Lunches are served at the four sites from 11:30 until 12:00 Noon and must be eaten on site.  This program is a collaboration of Boone Churches and will provide meals to children during the summer, beginning Monday.  Those interested in volunteering may contact the First United Methodist Church in Boone are 432-4660.
