Tuesday Primary Election Day

Posted on 05 June 2012 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—Boone County voters really have only one race for the Primary Election Tuesday.  The Republican candidate for Boone County Sheriff will be determined.  Madrid Police Chief Rick Tasler and retired Iowa State Patrolman and current Boone County 9-1-1 Coordinator Rick Lampe are facing off to determine who will challenge Gregg Elsberry in the November General Election.  Elsberry is currently the Chief Deputy.  Sheriff Ron Fehr announced late in 2011 that he would not seek another term.  Since there are no other races on the primary ballots, it’s been reported that a number of people have switched party affiliation to cast their votes.  The polls are open until 9:00 PM.
