Republicans Face Off In Sheriff’s Race

BOONE, Iowa—Two Republican candidates have filed papers for the parties endorsement in the June Primary Election.  Rick Lampe is currently the Boone County E-911 Coordinator and is a retired State Trooper, announced in January that he would be seeking the nomination.  Also filing to be on the ballot is Richard Tasler, Madrid Police Chief.  Prior to taking over as Police Chief in Madrid, Tasler was a Boone Police Officer.  One Democratic Candidate filed, Chief Deputy Gregg Elsberry will seek the parties nomination.  Sheriff Ron Fehr announced late last year that he would not be seeking re-election.
