BOONE, Iowa—Iowa DCI has released the names of the suspect and Boone Police Officers involved in Saturday night shooting. The suspect is 48-year old Brian Lee Johnson. The officers are 32-year old Sgt. John Wiebold and 29-year old Officer Korie Barber. Wiebold and Barber were backing up a Boone County Deputy on a call at 827 South Division Street. Johnson ran from the house and officers pursued. Barber attempted to subdue Johnson with a Taser. It had no effect. Johnson then turned and aimed a handgun at officers who fired multiple times, striking Johnson. Johnson was being treated in Des Moines for serious injuries. Jeff Stevens of 827 South Division Street was arrested by a Boone County Deputy on charges that were not related to the shooting.
