OGDEN, Iowa—The Ogden School Board has chosen to appoint someone to fill a vacancy on the Board created with the unexpected passing of Stan Friesen. During a special meeting Tuesday, Superintendent Bill Roederer says the Board decided to wait until after the September 13 election, and then have the new Board name a successor. Due to timing, it was not possible to have the decision made during the September election. Roederer says residents will still have the option to petition for a special election. Seven candidates have filed for three positions on the Ogden School Board.
