Boone High School Early-Out due to Heat

BOONE, IA – Beginning Wednesday, August 24, through Friday, August 26, Boone High School students will be released at 1:30 pm. Students in PK-8 grades in the Boone Schools are educated in air-conditioned classrooms. Most high school class rooms are not air-conditioned. Due to the heat in high schools classrooms, the high school ONLY will be releasing at 1:30 pm Wednesday through Friday of this week. PK-8 will remain on a regular schedule and be released at their regular time. High school students riding the buses will be directed to the high schools library where they will be supervised in an air-conditioned environment until bus pick-up at 3:10pm. Tuesday, August 23, high school students will be released at the regular 3:10 time. This announcement from Dr. Brad Manard, Superintendent of the Boone Community School District.
