Council To Change Precinct Boundaries

Posted on 20 July 2011 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—As expected, the Boone City Council will move forward with a plan to make some minor changes in the city’s voting precincts. The change will not affect any Council Members. City Administrator Luke Nelson and City Staff put together the proposal which tries to balance registered voters in each precinct. The proposal moved about 6 blocks from the northwest corner of the 2nd precinct to the 3rd precinct. About 6 blocks will be moved from the north end of the 3rd precinct to the 4th precinct. The change will not affect this Novembers municipal election. The Council must still adopt an ordinance amendment to make the change.
