Excessive Heat Watch

Posted on 15 July 2011 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Watch that will carry well into next week. Boone County Emergency Management Coordinator Dave Morlan says the weather will be dangerous because of the on going effects of the heat. He says the usual precautions are being recommended like drinking fluids, especially water. He also says people need to watch others for signs of difficulty due to the heat. At this point, there are locations that are air conditioned where people can get a break from the heat. If an emergency cooling shelter is needed, KWBG will help pass on those announcements.
