Posted on 17 June 2011 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—Several people turned out for the formal ground breaking ceremony for the James H. Andrew Railroad Museum and History Center Friday morning. Fenner Stevenson, General Manager for the Boone & Scenic Valley Railroad was delighted with the turnout and says he’s looking forward to helping bring the project to a reality. A 9,000 square foot addition will join the current railroad museum and depot and will feature a theatre and library, plus the collection of James H. Andrew. Andrew from Jefferson says he’s excited to keep his collection together and available for the public. The Boone City Council will consider the project site plan when they meet Monday.
