Supervisors Approve Notice of Intent

Posted on 15 June 2011 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—The Boone County Board of Supervisors have approved a Notice of Intent to be submitted to state and federal officials indicating an interest in applying for a Hazardous Mitigation Grant. The Iowa 4-H Foundation sought out assistance from the Supervisors. The Supervisors would still have an option to withdraw from the project, at least until a grant is received. That’s the big question. Grants will be issued on a first come, first served basis and just applying will not assure that one will be awarded to Boone County. The grant would fund the construction of a storm shelter at the 4-H Camp near Madrid.
