BOONE, Iowa—With luck, the Boone Municipal Airport Commission is expected to award a contract for the next phase of a substantial rehabilitation of the parking apron at the airport. The work is part of the Commission’s overall improvement plan which has drawn interest from pilots that would like to house aircraft at the airport. A recent addition involved the construction new hangars which were funded through an IJobs program and private investment from pilots. Recently, the Commission met with the City Council’s Economic Development Committee to discuss possible assistance to relocate an aviation business to the airport.
